Cincinnati celebrates Pride June 7th-14th

(Cincinnati) Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual Pride Week in the Queen City runs this year from June 7th to the 14th. The week begins with Gay Day at Kings Island on June 7th. Be sure to wear a red T-shirt. Check out the Eiffel Tower about 1 PM; that's traditionally been a gathering spot for Lesbians and Gay men at the park that day.

Cincinnati's Pride March will be held Saturday, June 13th. The march will start at 11 AM at City Hall and wind its way to a rally at Fountain Square. The march will then start up again and proceed down to the river for a Pride Fest, which will be held both Saturday and Sunday at the parking lot of The Dock.

Featured speaker at the Rally will be Dr. Marjorie Hill, the Gay and Lesbian Liaison to New York Mayor David Dinkins. Hill was featured speaker at last fall's Stonewall Union Dinner. Cincinnati Mayor Dwight Tillery has also been invited to speak at the Rally. Organizers are expecting a crowd of more than 1000 to attend.

The Cincinnati Men's Chorus will present a concert the evening of June 13th, with a special appearance by Muse, the Cincinnati Women's Chorus. They will perform at Withrow High School Auditorium, beginning at 8 PM.

Dayton plans Gay/Lesbian dinner for June 13th

(Dayton) Gay and Lesbian activists in Dayton will join together for a Pride Dinner on Saturday, June 13th. The Dayton & Miami Valley 6th Annual Lesbian & Gay Pride Dinner will feature singer/songwriter/pianist/leatherette Lynn Lavner in concert at Hara Ballerena, 1001 Shiloh Springs Road. Last year's dinner drew a crowd of about 450; Hara can hold up to a thousand people.

Lesbian/Gay Clevelanders to march June 20th

(Cleveland) Saturday, June 20th, is the date for celebration and marching up in Cleveland, as the Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual communities prepare for their third annual parade and festival. Theme for the parade and festival is "Evolution of the Revolution."

The parade steps off at East Ninth and Walnut Streets at 10:30 AM. It will end at the Lesbian and Gay Community Services Center, West 29th and Detroit Avenue. Comedian Lea DeLaria will perform, as will singing duo Romanovsky and Phillips and the North Coast Men's Chorus. R&P and the Men's Chorus will also perform a full concert the night of the 20th at Lakewood Civic Auditorium. Tickets are $12 each and will be held at the door. For those who want to start Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual Pride early, The Gay Invitational Fellowship Tourney (G/L/B bowlers) will offer a Lake Erie boat cruise aboard the Goodtime III. The cruise runs the evening of June 13th, leaving from the East Ninth Street pier. Tickets are $16 in advance and $20 at the gate, if there are any left. From June 11 through June 27, the Cleveland Cinemathique will be feature a Gay and Lesbian Mini-Film Festival at the Cleveland Institute of Art. Parking is free. Tickets are $5; on nights when two films are showing, you can watch both for $9. Titles include Voices from the Front, Black Lizard, Resident Alien, Homo Promo, and Extramuros. On June 14th, Stonewall Cleveland will host its first Pride Dinner, with guest speaker Rhonda R. Rivera. Rivera is a professor of Law at The Ohio State University, and is the founder of the Ohio Human Rights Bar Association. The Dinner will be held at the Stouffer Tower City Plaza Hotel. A cash bar will open at 6:30 PM; with dinner served at 7:30 PM. Cost is $40 per person. Reservations are due by June 7th. To make reservations, or to get more information, call 216-295-0770.

Toledo celebrates with Gay boat trip

(Toledo) The Personal Rights Organization of Toledo (PRO-Toledo) will host its annual Pride Boat Cruise on the Maumee on Saturday, June 20th.
